Bitget says some users will lose access in one-off service cut, while funds stay safe
Payments High Risk

Bitget said it will discontinue services for some crypto users in a one-off exercise, while stressing that affected users’ funds will remain safe. For PSPs and other high-risk payment providers, the useful detail is less the headline and more the process: direct notices, withdrawal handling, and a warning to watch for phishing during the transition.
Bitget posted on X on Saturday that the service change applies only to certain customers. Users who have not received official notifications from Bitget can continue to use their accounts as usual.
The exchange said affected users will be contacted directly by email, in-app messages and/or push notifications with next steps, relevant deadlines, and withdrawal arrangements. Bitget also said its customer support team can assist with pending orders, withdrawals, and other account-related questions throughout the process.
The exchange also told users to rely only on official channels and to be cautious of phishing links, impersonation accounts, and unverified information.
The move comes after Cointelegraph reported on Sept. 25 that Bitget had confirmed unauthorized transfers and temporarily suspended withdrawals while it investigated a security breach. Cointelegraph later said the total stolen in the breach amounted to about $388 million, according to a security company.
