Revolut rolls out EURR, its euro-backed stablecoin, in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal

Revolut has started a phased launch of EURR, its first euro-backed stablecoin, with initial availability for eligible users in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal. The setup matters for high-risk PSPs because this is not a side project or a “crypto feature” bolted onto a wallet app; it is a MiCA-aligned euro token inside a retail banking and payments environment.

  1. EURR is issued by Bridge Building, a Stripe-owned company, and will be fully integrated into the Revolut retail app. Revolut says the token is backed by euro reserves held and managed by Bridge, and its rate is intended to stay at €1.
  2. The stablecoin supports multiple blockchain networks and external crypto wallets. Revolut says users will be able to move euro directly inside the crypto ecosystem, send EURR to external wallets, and use it in supported blockchain networks without first converting funds into dollar stablecoins.
  3. Revolut plans to expand access to other European Economic Area markets by the end of the year. The company also says it will develop stablecoins denominated in other currencies, using separate regulatory mechanisms for those products.
  4. EURR is structured as an electronic money token (EMT) under the EU’s MiCA framework. The issuer is Bridge Building S.A., an electronic money institution licensed in Luxembourg and supervised by the CSSF, and EURR holders will have the right to redeem tokens at nominal value.
  5. In February, Revolut said it was among the first group of companies testing pound sterling stablecoin plans with the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Emíl Urmanshin, Revolut’s Head of Crypto and New Bets, said EURR is meant to connect tens of millions of customers to on-chain finance.

For context, Revolut says the launch does not directly cover Ukraine at this stage: the product starts in the EEA, while Revolut has temporarily suspended opening new accounts for customers living in Ukraine. Ukraine’s draft law No. 10225-d on virtual assets was still awaiting second reading as of August 2026, with the профильный committee recommending adoption in second reading and as a whole. That makes MiCA-compliant euro stablecoins a useful reference point for anyone watching how regulated crypto payment rails may be structured in the region.
