Sahara Las Vegas Adds BurraPay Crypto Funding at the Main Cage, with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin Converting to USD First

Sahara Las Vegas has started letting players fund casino play with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin at its main cage, but the coins are converted into US dollars before any bets can be placed. For PSPs and operators, the important part is not “crypto betting” in the casino-floor sense; it is a fiat-on-ramp for gaming balances, now live on the Las Vegas Strip.

  1. Sahara Las Vegas said the option is available at its main cage, where players can use crypto to convert into USD chips or slot tickets. The property described this as the first Las Vegas Strip casino to offer this kind of crypto funding flexibility, although Circa Resort & Casino in downtown Las Vegas already had a similar setup.
  2. The crypto option runs through BurraPay, the same provider behind Circa’s crypto payments offering. BurraPay’s system received official approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board earlier this year, which is the part that matters for anyone watching how gaming-friendly payment flows get approved and then rolled out.
  3. BurraPay charges a 5% fee on deposits. To use the service, players must be at least 21 years old, have an active Infinity Rewards account, and complete ID verification before making crypto deposits.
  4. The crypto funding can be used only for casino play at Sahara Las Vegas. It cannot be used for rooms, restaurant bills, or other on-property purchases, so this is a narrow payments use case rather than a property-wide crypto acceptance layer.
  5. Craig Pleva, general manager at Sahara Las Vegas, said the addition is meant to give guests “greater flexibility and convenience” and called it part of the property’s move toward a “modern, seamless experience.” BurraPay co-founder and chief technology officer Luke Millanta said the Strip launch followed the downtown rollout with Circa earlier this year, and both parties said they want the process to stay compliant and help prevent financial fraud.
