Brazil’s Federal Prosecutor opens probe into Davi Brito, Raquel Brito and Bia Miranda over illegal casino promotion on Instagram

Brazil’s Federal Prosecutor opens probe into Davi Brito, Raquel Brito and Bia Miranda over illegal casino promotion on Instagram

Brazil’s Federal Prosecutor’s Office (MPF) has opened an investigation into whether Davi Brito, Raquel Brito and Bia Miranda promoted illegal casinos and betting sites on Instagram. For payment and risk teams, the useful part is not the celebrity gossip; it is the playbook: traffic routed through Stories, framed as something other than betting, and aimed at keeping money flowing into unlicensed gaming.

  1. The MPF is examining whether the three influencers advertised illegal casinos and online betting platforms after a provisional measure (MP) prohibited the operation of online betting houses in Brazil.
  2. According to the MPF, the method was to place links to illegal casinos in Instagram Stories mixed in with everyday content, while claiming the promoted content was not a bet but a “prediction” platform. In practice, users who opened the link were taken to games that required cash stakes to participate.
  3. In one post identified by the investigation, Davi Brito referred to the illegal betting site as “resenha boa.” Bia Miranda was more explicit when promoting an irregular page: “I came to show the novelty of the moment again! It’s not a bet, it’s not a wager. You have to complete the word to win,” she said.
  4. The case started with complaints sent to the Federal Prosecutor for Citizens’ Rights (PFDC) after a video by journalist and influencer Gabriel Perline showed influencers bypassing the legislation. The MPF also received complaints about other, smaller-scale influencers who were promoting legalized betting sites until September 2026 and may have moved to illegal platforms to keep earning.
  5. Davi Brito responded on his own Instagram, rejecting the accusations and saying he was in debt because of wedding expenses with Emilly Araújo. He said his name was in SPC and Serasa and added that he would not worry about the inquiry.

For high-risk PSPs, the key signal is familiar: when legal access tightens, some traffic migrates to gray or outright illegal operators, and social media remains the cheapest distribution layer. If Brazil’s enforcement focus keeps moving up the chain from operators to promoters, affiliates and influencer networks stop being a marketing problem and become an onboarding and monitoring problem.
