Stablecoin shift is reshaping crypto gambling, according to iGB report
Payments High Risk
10 Sep 2026 · 1 min read
Cryptocurrency gambling is no longer being defined mainly by volatile coins and offshore-only setups. iGB’s latest ContentOS intelligence report says stablecoins, evolving regulation, and a new payment stack are now driving the market — which is exactly the kind of change that matters to operators and PSPs deciding whether digital assets belong in their flow.
iGB’s report, How the stablecoin shift is reshaping crypto gambling, looks at a sector in transition rather than a settled market. It focuses on the forces behind adoption, the relationship between crypto-native and regulated gaming, and the operational questions businesses need to answer before touching digital assets.
The report was produced in close partnership with regulated RYKI, which positions itself as a provider with a direct service line for the gaming industry. RYKI says it works on crypto-fiat transactions, secure custody, and bespoke digital asset solutions.
The main commercial point is straightforward: players want faster, more seamless money movement, but operators have to determine whether blockchain-based payments actually deliver commercial value while meeting stricter standards around compliance, transparency, and player protection. On paper, that is a payment story; in practice, it is a licensing and risk-management story too.
iGB says the direction of travel is becoming clearer, but significant uncertainty remains. Regulation is evolving across major jurisdictions, the true scale of the market is contested, and operators still face difficult choices over infrastructure, risk, and timing.
The report frames the key strategic question for the market: whether crypto gambling stays a parallel offshore ecosystem, or whether stablecoins become part of the payment layer for mainstream gaming. For high-risk PSPs, that is the line between a niche crypto flow and something closer to normal payment processing with extra compliance baggage.
